Text | James L. London, who for a number of years had been living in the vicinity of Butterfield, passed peacefully away Friday morning, age 59 years. His death was due to lagrippe and stomach trouble. James London was born in Madison Co., Ark., in the year of 1854 and came with his mother to Missouri in 1880. Early in life he professed faith in Christ and united with the Presbyterian Church at Mt. Joy. In October 1912 he became a member of the Methodist Church at Butterfield where he was an active member until death. He was married to Laura J. Ferguson in 1876. To this union were born no children. He is survived by his wife, two brothers and a number of other relatives. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. M. J. Combs Saturday afternoon at the Mt. Pleasant Church near Butterfield an the remains laid to rest in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. |
