Obit For Neva Josephine (Wormington) Linebarger

Text Neva Josephine (Wormington) Linebarger, 89, of Purdy, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 4, 2013 at Cox Monett Hospital in Monett, Mo. She was born on May 9, 1923 in Purdy, Mo., the daughter of the late Ellis and Goldie (Smith) Wormington. On June 24, 1944 she was united in marriage to Eugene Linebarger in Purdy, he preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1988.

She was a homemaker, wife and mother, a member of the First Baptist Church in Purdy for 57 years, where she taught Sunday school, and was a part of the Baptist Women's Union.

Neva is survived by two sons, Gary Linebarger and wife, Inez, Lewisville, Texas, and Dennis Linebarger and wife, Eden, The Philippines; one daughter, Denise Ridenour and husband, Ron, Monett; one sister, Audrey Erickson; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, Ellis and Goldie and husband, Eugene.

Visitation for Neva will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Purdy, Mo. with funeral services to start at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bill Banks officiating. Burial will follow services at Purdy Cemetery.
