Text | George Lemon died very suddenly Saturday afternoon, August 3 at his home on a farm west of Butterfield owned by Farmer Higgs. He had gone to the spring for a bucket of water a few minutes before his death and appeared to be feeling as well as usual that day. Upon returning with a bucket of water he went into the house to lie down. Mr. and Mrs. Loren Lemon with whom he lived heard him gasping and upon entering the room found him dying. The funeral was held Sunday at the Horner church southwest of Cassville and internment made in the cemetery there. George Lemon had lived in Cassville and surrounding community for many years. He was about 70 years old. He had never been married and since the death of his mother a few years ago he had been making his home with his nephew, Loren Lemon. He was a man of a reserved disposition and a good citizen. |
