Text | Arthur Wesley Lee, son of the late Armstrong and Louisa Lee, was born Cassville, Mo., Jan. 26, 1875 and passed away at his home in Rock Comfort, Mo., at 6 o’clock, Friday morning, Jan. 9, 1953 at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 13 days. He was a resident of Barry and McDonald Counties all of his life. Wesley was converted many years ago and was a devout Christian the remainder of his life. He was united in marriage to Susie E. Metcalf, March 4, 1897. To this union 8 children were born 6 daughters, Mrs. Maude Shockley, Mrs. Ada Michael and Mrs. Elsie Snook of Wayne, Mo., Mrs. Ruth Payne of Rocky Comfort, Mo., Mrs. Clara Bateman of Hutchinson, Kan., and Mrs. Bailey Boucher of Exeter, two sons, Ross Lee of Exeter and Hubert Lee of St. Francis, Kan. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Susie the eight children, thirty-three grandchildren, twenty five great-grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Bessie Martin of Kansas City, Mo., a large number of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Three brothers, Bob, Frank and Isaac, and three sisters, Ida, Alice and Lottie preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted at his home in Rocky Comfort. A second service was conducted at 9:30 o’clock at the Exeter Baptist Church by Rev. J. E. Presley, assisted by Junior Mattingly. Burial was made in the Maplewood Cemetery at Exeter under direction of the McQueen funeral home of Wheaton. Card of Thanks We wish to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all who were so kind and helpful during the sickness and at the death of our loved one. We especially wish to thank those who brought food, for the flora offering, the singers, the pall bearers, those who dug the grave.
