Text | Wanda M. (Haddock) Lechner, 73, of Aurora, died at 3:30 p.m. July 11 at her home. Mrs. Lechner was born May 22, 1930 in Monett, the daughter of Ernest and Ethel Bougher Haddock. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish in Aurora, where she served as president of the Council of Catholic Women, and a eucharistic minister for 10 years. She was named Outstanding Young Woman of the Year for the Jacycettes in 1963-64. She was Lawrence County's chairman of Cerebral Palsy in the 1970s. She owned a silk flower shop for eight years. She married on June 16, 1951, in Verona and he survives. Additional survivors include two sons, one daughter and two sisters, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ernestine White and Helene Bounous. Services were 10 a.m. today, July 14, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Aurora. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Verona under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home of Aurora. Memorials may be made to the church. |
