Text | Wyatt E. Lawson, Seligman, 76, died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, January 18 at South Barry County Hospital, Cassville, following a long illness. He was born March 14, 1899, in McDonald County and lived his entire lifetime in McDonald and Barry Counties. He was a retired farmer and was a deacon in the Mission Baptist church in Washburn since September 1938. He is survived by his wife, Belle Rose, whom he married on September 24, 1919, at Carthage: two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Williams, Seligman and Mrs. Lois DeWitt, Hobbs, N.M.; nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Culver Chapel, Cassville. Rev. Hugh Higgs and Rev. Gene Latshaw officiated. Burial was in King Cemetery, south of Washburn. Grandsons served as pallbearers. |
