Text | William H. Lawrence of Roaring River died Thursday morning of last week after a short illness of pneumonia fever. Mr. Lawrence had been a resident of this county only a short time, having resided in the Pasley locality and later on the Critchfield farm on Roaring River. He was born in Walker County, Georgia, May 17, 1871. His parents dying when a youth he was reared as an orphan boy. In 1892, he was married to Mary Whisan who lived only a short time. Some years later he was married to Matilda E. "Tea" Phillips whom he is survived with three children. Funeral services were conducted Friday by Rev. J. T. Brattin at the Corinth Church and his body was laid to rest in the Corinth Cemetery. Milwaukee News: Mr. Lawrence of Roaring River was buried at Corinth Cemetery Friday. Bro. Brattin preached the funeral. We sympathize with the wife and little children. They need help as he was the support to care for and make a living for them. The friends of this place made a donation Sunday for them. May God watch over and care for them through this sad life. |
