| Text | Barbara Jane Lane, 63, of Monett, died at 10:30 a.m. yesterday, January 13, 2000, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield following a brief illness. Mrs. Lane was born August 21, 1936, in Oklahoma, the daughter of Charles McManus Sr. and Velma May (Daugherty) McManus. She was a substance abuse counselor and a graduate of Wayne State College in Detroit, Michigan. Survivors include two sons, one daughter, her mother, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles McManus Sr., in 1992; two brothers, Charles McManus Jr., in 1993, and Robert McManus, in 1983; and one sister, Kay Weaver, in 1996. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 17, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 16, at the funeral home. |
