| Text | George C. Long, 56, died Tuesday morning at the Veterans Hospital in Wichita, KS, following a long illness. He was born Oct. 19, 1920 at Exeter, MO. He married Margaret E. Allen Jan. 30, 1943 in Brownwood, TX. She died Dec. 6, 1966. A retired engineer for the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroads, he moved here in 1945.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a WW II veteran. Survivors include a son, Charles; a daughter Shirley Wambsganss; brothers: Lloyd, John, David, Gary, Errol, and Jim; sister Betty Barel; and one grandchild. Funeral will be in Elliot Chapel and burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. |
