Text | Vernon Bryan Kropp, 89, of Carthage, formerly of Monett, died at 6:33 a.m. today, July 8, at St. Luke's Nursing Center in Carthage. Mr. Kropp was born August 25, 1909, in Blayden, Nebraska, the son of John Peter and Mary V. Kropp. He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Monett, a member of the B.P.E.O. singing in the Elk's choir in the state of Oregon, and was retired from Boeing Aircraft as a payroll supervisor. He married Wilma Elizabeth Hill in 1934. He married Leota H. Kinney in 1952, and she preceded him in death in 1984. He married Effie McConnell in 1986. Survivors include one daughter, of Boise, Idaho; two step-sons, both of Joplin; one brother, of the state of Oregon; two grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son, Leonard Kropp; one brother, Ray Kropp; and two sisters, Naomi Price and Nadine Robinson. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Buchanan Chapel in Monett with Rev. John Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the church. |
