Text | Jesse B. Kring was born in what was then Bath Co., Ky., March 3, 1845.
He died of paralysis at his home in Genoa, Ark., January 1, 1915. Funeral services were held at the Union Church in Genoa Sunday January 2, conducted by Rev. C. S. Weaver a Christian Minister of Texarkana, after which all that was mortal was laid to rest in Cedar Grove Cemetery near that place. When he was first stricken it was thought that he would partially recover and his life prolonged at least a few months or years. All was done that medical Science and loving heads could do but it soon became evident that he was steadily going down to the end, which came so quietly and peacefully that his watching loved ones scarcely knew when his spirit fled. He was married twice, his first wife died 42 years ago, his second wife survives him. He was the father of nine children, three of whom died in early infancy and the late H. C. Kring of Monett, five are living, they are, Mrs. J. N. Frisby of Clarksburg, W. Va., Mrs. Jack Utterback of Yale, Ky., Mrs. S. T. Hankins of Cassville, Mo., Dr. C. H. Kring of New Douglas, Ill., and Arthur at home all of whom were present at his bedside when death came. He leaves besides his wife and children, an aged brother, three sisters and a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors to mourn his loss. He was a veteran of the Civil War, a Mason, and a member of the Christian Church for nearly 45. Research Note: Jesse B. Kring 1845 - 1915 |
