Text | Ora A. Jordan, 83, of Monett passed away at 3:50 P.M. Thursday, December 7, 2000, three miles north of Purdy on Highway 37 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on May 25, 1917, in Crane, the son of the late Thomas A. and Vinnie (Hilton) Jordon. He was a carpenter for 40 years in California before moving to Missouri twenty years ago. He attended the Aurora High School, where he was a member of the 1934 undefeated Aurora Hound Dawg football team. He was a Navy veteran of World War II where he served for over three years with the Seabees in the Pacific. He was of the Church of Christ faith. He married Doris (Kane) Ellis on February 21, 1984, in Miami, OK. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Ray Jordan. Funeral services were Monday at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Chapel in Monett with Rev. Lee Neill officiating. Burial was in the Monett IOOF Cemetery, Monett. Arrangements were under direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett. |
