Text | Marjorie M. Jordan, age 85, of Monett, Missouri, died at 9:27 a.m. yesterday, December 7, 2000, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin following a brief illness. Mrs. Jordan was born October 23, 1915, in Purdy, and was a daughter of General Roscoe and Minnie Mae (King) Peck. She was a retired teacher and bookkeeper and worked for many years for MFA Exchange and Harris-Howell Clinic in Purdy. She moved to Monett in 1998 from Purdy. She attended Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church in Purdy and was a member of the Antique Car Club in Fairview. She married Carl Hilton Jordan on October 24, 1935, in Monett, and he preceded her in death June 1, 1988. Survivors include one son, of Joplin; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Max Jordan on December 11, 1997. Services will be 2:30 p.m. tomorrow, December 9, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett with Rev. Lee Neill officiating. Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, December 8, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Gideon's Society or American Cancer Society. |
