Text | Another happy home has been made sad by the departure of an excellent wife, mother, neighbor and citizen, surrounded by a loving husband, sons and daughters. Her life was one worthy of emulation and her foot prints should be followed by her loved ones. Miss Charity M. Gillmore was born Jan. 16, 1854 and died March 24, 1917, at her home in Liberty township, age 63 years, 2 months and 8 days. She united with the Baptist Church when 13 years of age and later united with the Christian Church, of which she was a member at the time of her death at Exeter. She was married to Charles W. Jones, Jan. 13, 1878, and was the mother of five children, four of whom survive her, who are: Rex of Colorado, Lynn, Keith Jones and Mrs. Lela Lauderdale of near Exeter. Rev. J. S. McQueen conducted funeral services at the Concord Presbyterian Church, Sunday at 2 p.m., where a large number of sympathizing neighbors and friends assembled to pay the last tribute of respect tot he departed. The remains were interred in the cemetery at the cemetery at that place. She had lived a righteous life and has now gone to her reward for her faithfulness. |
