Mrs. Mollie Mary Johnson, wife of J. A. Johnson of Monett, died Tuesday morning of last week following a six weeks illness of flu and complications. Mrs. Johnson, the daughter of George and Nancy Carney Moore was born in Barry County, March 16, 1871 and died March 9, 1937. When a young woman she was married to James A. Johnson in Barry County and to this union three children were born, all of whom survive. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson moved their family to Monett in 1907 and have since resided there. Mrs. Johnson, a true Christian woman, was loved by all who knew her as her kindness and charitable ways were most outstanding. She had been in ill health for some time, the last illness of flu and complications lasting for six weeks. Surviving besides the husband are three children, Mrs. Ottie Davis of Monett, Earl E. Johnson of Kansas City and Glenn P. Johnson of Baraboo, Wis., a nephew George Moore of the home address, whom she reared; one brother, John Moore, Purdy; three sisters, Mrs. Burl Vermillion, Mrs. Minnie Fly and Mrs. Henry Fly of Monett, two half-brothers Young Moore of Kansas City and Bud Blythe of Jenkins, three half sisters, Mrs. Allie Coones of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Fawn Thomas of Aurora and Mrs. Pearly Blythe, address unknown, and two granddaughters, Jimmie and Peggy Davis. |
