| Text | Amy M. Johnson, 92, of Kansas City, formerly of Barry County, died April 28 at St. Joseph Health Center in Kansas City. Mrs. Johnson was born November 4, 1906, in Pleasant Ridge, the daughter of John and Anna Marie (Lundquist) Appelquist. She had been employed at Goldman Jewelry Company in Kansas City. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the church choir, and the Scandinavian Club Women's Auxiliary. She married Clarence E. Johnson on November 7, 1929, and he preceded her in death in 1969. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, Charlie, and Oscar Appelquist; and five sisters, Ellen Nelson, Anna Appelquist, Esther Appelquist, Agnes Ericson, and Minnie Ferm. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kansas City under the direction of Mt. Moriah Freeman Funeral Home of Kansas City. |
