Text | Irene Jackson was born to Jesse Earl and Lavada Jane (Henson) Webber on May 30, 1921, at rural Verona, Missouri. After a long illness she departed this life on August 16, 2006, from her home in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 85 years 2 months and 17 days. She united in marriage to Edward Adrain Jackson on July 1, 1940. To this union three daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clarence Webber and Jay Webber, and three infant brothers. Irene lived her adult life in and around the Cassville area until 1954 when she moved to Ava, Mo., to enroll her daughters in school and to serve as matron and cook at the Mt. Zion Bible School. She was later employed by the Mansfield Hospital where she worked in the kitchen and housekeeping departments and Springfield Osteopathic Hospital in the housekeeping department until retirement. The family would like to thank Dr. Norman Knowlton for his outstanding medical care and all the kindness and love he displayed to her and her family during her various illnesses. A special thanks to the Community Hospices for there loving help and support in the last days of her life. Celebration of her life was held Monday, August 21, 2006, at 11:00 in the Klingner Cope Family Funeral Home Chapel. 1635 N. Benton, Springfield, Missouri. Visitation was held on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial was at the Sparks Cemetery on U Highway near Butterfield, Missouri. |
