Text | G. W. Jackson was born in Wythe County, VA., and departed this life May 7, 1934, age 80 years, 3 months and 10 days. At an early age he was converted and united with the Methodist church at Rural Retreat, Va. He was married to Linnie Rhudy, March 18, 1874. To them three children were born. Mrs. Arthur Williams, northwest of Cassville, a daughter, is the only surviving member of his family. He had been making his home with her. He had been afflicted for about a year of heart trouble. He is also survived by three brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, May 9, at the Antioch Baptist church, conducted by Rev. J. T. Brattin, A quartet composed of Mrs. Glenn Pearl, Mrs. John Ray, Mrs. Charles Willis and W.C. Blythe sang. Burial was made in the cemetery at the church, the Koon Funeral Service in charge.
