Text | Benjamin G. Irwin, 81 years old, owner-operator of the Irwin Hotel in Cassville the last 32 years, died at 9:00 o'clock Tuesday night in the Cassville Community Hospital. He had been a patient in the hospital for a week. Mr. Irwin was a life-long resident of Barry County and was widely known. He was one of the leaders of the Democrat party in the county and one of his daughters is Postmistress at Cassville. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lilly Irwin; two daughters, Mrs. George Joslin and Mrs. Gladys Smith; two granddaughters, Mrs. Nancy England and Patricia Joslin of Cassville, and a sister, Mrs. Tom Wiles of Afton, Okla. Funeral services are being conducted this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Koon Funeral Chapel in Cassville. The Rev. Chas. Van Zandt of Exeter will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Lee Soxman, Jr. Burial will be made in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cassville. |
