Text | Estella (Wry) Hutchens wife of John T. Hutchens, well known showman and prominent Cassville man died in Houston, Texas Jan. 22. Mr. and Mrs. Hutchens were on their way home from California were they had been visiting relatives and friends. She had been sick sometime and became worse while on their trip. Mrs. Hutchens was born June 4, 1881 at Osceola, Iowa. She was married to John Hutchens in Cassville March 8, 1919 and is survived by her husband, a son Ralph of California and a daughter Mrs. H. Evans of Memphis Tenn. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren and two sisters also survive. During their entire married life the well-known couple was in the show business, which they operated successfully. Visiting all parts of the United States each year. Mr. & Mrs. Hutchens were a devoted couple. Both were favorably known in the show business world and had many friends. During the winter months which were spent in Cassville. Mrs. Hutchens made many friends who regret her passing. She was a splendid woman. An impressive funeral services were held at the Culver Funeral Home Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. Charles Siler after which burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Graveside service by Rehekah Lodge of Springfield were held. Many beautiful floral emblems were received as an expression of the esteem in which the fine woman was held. |
