Text | George T. Hurt, a prominent young farmer, living on the old
Lewis farm on White River southeast of Eagle Rock, died Wednesday, Nov. 3,
following an illness of several weeks of stomach trouble. George was only 34 years old, just in the prime of young manhood and was a young man of excellent character. He was industrious upright in every respect and held in high esteem by his neighbors and all who knew him. He was devoted to this young wife and children and had nobly striven to make a home for them. It has been a long time since a death in that locality has brought more grief to the community. George was born in the Roach neighborhood Aug. 5, 1881. He was married Miss Sarah Lewis in 1905. His young wife and three children, ages 9, 6, and 4 survive him. In the passing of George Hurt this county loses one of its best young men. |
