Text | Walter William Hoyt, son of Byron Abner and Ida Mariah Hoyt, was born August
4, 1876, at Luddington, Mich. When he was a small child his parents moved to
Missouri and later to Arkansas where he grew to manhood. He was married to Della Henley July 6, 1906. To this union were born six children, two of whom were died in early childhood. His wife preceded him in death Dec. 21, 1944. His one brother Frank Hoyt, died in 1919. He and his family moved to Wheaton in 1924 where he was employed as the local Station agent until his retirement in 1947. During the past 10 days he suffered the illness which resulted in his death in Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Friday October 13, 1950 at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 9 days. The survivors are two sons, Charles of Roxana Ill., and Maurice of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Marguerite Higgs of Purdy, Mo. and Ida Pearl Yates of Topeka, Kan.; two half sisters Maud Turner and Mabel Chaney both of Vivian, La. and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Wheaton Baptist Church Sunday Afternoon by Rev. W. P. Richardson assisted by Rev. Charles Vanzandt of Exeter.
