Text | Charles A. Howerton, 93, of Tulsa, Oklahoma,
died June 1. Mr. Howerton was born October 6, 1913, in Monett, the son of Peter A. and Nancy Holder Howerton. He was a retired Frisco Railroad engineer and a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was a 1932 graduate of Monett High School and 1934 graduate of Monett Junior College. He married Glorine Reynaud on September 10, 1940, and she preceded him in death April 26, 1995. Survivors include two sons, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and of Muskogee, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services were 11 a.m. today, June 4, at Christ United Methodist Church. Burial was 4 p.m. today at Waldensian Cemetery south of Monett under the direction of Freeman Harris Funeral Home in Tulsa, Memorials may be made to Waldensian Presbyterian Church south of Monett. |
