Howerton passed away Friday, June 29, at about 2 o'clock at his home three
miles east of Wheaton. Funeral services were held from the home Sunday
afternoon, July 1, at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. C. M. Smith of
Exeter. Burial took place in the Corsicana cemetery under the direction of
the L. H. Blankenship Undertaking company of Purdy. Mrs. Howerton passed away 27 years ago. One son died in infancy. One daughter, Mrs. Ollie Cartwright of Wheaton and one son, Otto Howerton of Purdy survive him. Three brothers and two sisters survive him. They are Chart Howerton of Purdy, Jack Howerton of Duenwe, Wm. Howerton of Round Rock, Tex., Mrs. Sarah Lansdown and Mrs. Sarah Rogers, both of Purdy. Research Note: Charles Tilman Howerton - Nov. 1, 1864 - June 28, 1928 He was the husband of Dora Bradley. Son of Ruffus Howerton and mother's maiden name was (Emily Catherine) Fly, both born in Ray Co., TN. Otto Howerton of Purdy, MO was the informant on the death certificate. |
