Text | Lee Howerton, one of the farmers in the Shoal Creek country in the west part
of the county died at his home Tuesday, April 6, following a short illness
of pneumonia at the age of about 50 years. He had been in poor health for some years suffering from rheumatism and had made several trips to the west in hope of being benefited. He is survived by his wife and two brothers, Charley and Chart Howerton and was the brother of Alex Howerton who died in Oklahoma a few weeks ago. He was held in high esteem by his acquaintances and will be missed in his community where he had resided for many years. Research Note: Buried at Corsicana; and there was tombstone repair, too. There was a photo posted, which was provided by Jack Fly. Calvin Lee Howerton Jan. 28, 1869 Apr. 7, 1926 Ida Howerton May 31, 1878 no date |
