| Text | Mary Virginia Horner, of Ash Grove, MO, departed this life on Thursday, July 30, 2009, in the Ash Grove Healthcare Facility at the age of 96 years.
She was born on June 13, 1913, in Stotts City, MO, to Horace and Maggie (Barnes) Duke. Mary was united in marriage to Richard H. Horner on August 16, 1935, in Mt. Vernon, MO. She was a wonderful homemaker and worked as an elementary school cook. Preceding her in death were: her parents; and her husband, Richard Horner in 2004 after 69 years of marriage. Survivors include: her daughter of Walnut Grove, MO; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2009, in the Greenfield Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bob Dodson officiating. Burial followed in the Horner Cemetery, Cassville, Missouri. |
