Text | John L. Holloway, 90, of Purdy, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield.
He was born June 4, 1923, in Aurora, the son of Asa Parker and Cattie L. (Ash) Holloway. On Jan. 20, 1945, in Siloam Springs, Ark., he was united in marriage to Mary Alice Collins, who preceded him in death on Sept. 20, 2008. Also preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Bill, Earl and Walter Holloway; and four sisters, Ethel Moore, Jesse Terry, Eunice Myers and Francis Haworth. Survivors include: one son, Johnny D. Holloway, of Purdy; one daughter, May Lynn Coones and her husband, Carl, of Springfield; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was a life-long resident of Barry County, receiving his education at McDowell. He was a self-employed over-the-road truck driver. He was a member of Log Church of God Holiness, Butterfield. Graveside services were held Thursday at Log Church Cemetery under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. |
