| Text | Jess Higgs, 99, Pierce City, died Tuesday, July 31 at Aurora Community
Hospital.
Mr. Higgs was born March
14, 1902 in Exeter, the son of Harve Higgs and Francis Bell Baker Higgs. He
was a Baptist minister and worked part-time with Forrest Products. He moved
to Pierce City in 1995 from Cassville. He was a member of the Baptist Church
in Pierce City.
He married Mary Francis
Tucker on August 5, 1928 in Stella.
Survivors include one daughter; two brothers, two grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one daughter, four sisters; two brothers and one great-grandchild. Services were held August 3 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Rex Black, Rev. Greg Bunn and Rev. Danny Heupel officiating. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter. Arrangements were under direction of the Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. March 14, 1902 - July 31, 2001 |
