| Text | Hollis "Speck" Hicks, 89, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, formerly of Butterfield,
died June 7 at the home of his granddaughter, Debbie Ballard, in Carlsbad. Mr. Hicks was born June 26, 1909, in New Boston, Texas, the son of Francis M. and Eddie Hicks. He was a retired pipe liner and cattle farmer. He moved to Butterfield in 1971 and moved to Carlsbad in 1998. He married Mavia Goacher on October 30, 1963, in the state of Oklahoma, and she preceded him in death June 14, 1997. Services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow, June 11, at Fohn Chapel in Cassville with Rev. Gene Henbest officiating. Burial will be in Log Church Cemetery in Butterfield under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home of Cassville. |
