Text | Anna Mae Hickey, daughter of Snow and Alice Hickey, was born January 8, 1917 in Washburn, MO. And passed away at the home of her parents, September 15, 1936 at the age of 19 years, 8 months, and 15 days. She was converted and joined the Baptist church at Washburn, and she was a faithful, willing worker in all organizations connected wit her church. Her unfailing devotion to her Christian duties might serve as an example of one in whom God dwells. She spent twelve years as a student of the Washburn Consolidated schools and graduated from the high school with the class of 1936. Illness overtook her before the time of her graduation, but fate ruled that she should enjoy the goal toward which she had worked-her commencement. She received her diploma with her classmates on April 30, 1936. She underwent an operation on May 11, 1936 at the Cardwell Hospital in Stella, Missouri. Complications resulting from months of ill health caused her much suffering, she bore with patience her hours of pain. She was possessed with a constant desire to do only the thing that might restore her health and happiness; during her health and happiness. During her last moments, she said she wanted peace and rest and that she was going home. Anna Mae leaves her parents, one brother and a host of relatives and friends. Each of us has lost a friend. A friend in whom we had absolute confidence. Knowing and loving Anna Mae has meant for each of us a blessing Research Note: Death Cert. # 33573 and Family History (Effie Erwin Atwell Scrap Book) Name: Anna Mae Hickey Born: Jan. 8, 1917, Washburn, Barry Co., MO Parents Snow and Alice (Laughlin) Hickey Died: Sept. 15, 1936 Home - Washburn Twp., Barry Co., MO Buried: Washburn Prairie Cemetery, Barry Co., MO |
