| Text | Ona Lorene "Rene" Hester, 81, of Washburn died June
13, 2005, at Red Rose Inn in Cassville, Mo. She was born May 16, 1924, in
Guthrie, Texas, to Russell and Lura Watson McGehee. She was preceded in
death by her husbands, L. T. Myers, who died in the Battle of Normandy, and
Howard Hester Sr. on April 14, 2003. She grew up and was educated in Texas. She was a former employee of the post office, was an aircraft factory worker and a telephone operator, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Washburn. Survivors include one daughter, three sons, one brother, one sister, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Burial will be in Washburn Prairie Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Fair Haven Children's Home or Washburn Church of Christ, c/o the funeral home. |
