| Text | Willie Hendrix, 86, of Washburn, passed away Monday, Aug. 9, 2010. He was born Sept. 21, 1923, in Washburn, the son of Thomas and Carrie (Norman) Hendrix. On Nov. 1, 1943, in Seligman, he was united in marriage to Helen Barnes and to this union was born a tiny son, Willie Joe "Jody" Hendrix, who died at birth. He was the last one to survive this large family, sisters, Jewell, Flossie and Hattie and his brothers, Ray, Vaudie, Olin, Osa, Harold, Buddie, Don, Virgil, Elmer and JD. Survivors include: his wife, Helen; and two sisters-in-law. He was an ordained Southern Baptist minister. He had retired because of his health. He always liked for people to call him Brother Willie. He and his wife ministered together in preaching and singing gospel songs, also for many weddings and funerals. Funeral services were held Thursday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Burial was at King Cemetery, Seligman. |
