Text | Leon Henderson, age 85 of Seligman, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011, at Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation. He was born in Rocky Comfort, Missouri, July 30, 1926, the son of James Henry and Nannie May (Cox) Henderson. He was united in marriage to Geneva Mahurin on August 26, 1944, and to this union two children were born, Charles and Leta. Leon is survived by a son, Charles Henderson and his wife, Annette of Seligman; a daughter, Leta Lloyd and her husband, Efton of Rogers, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Kristy Henderson, Chuck Henderson and his wife Ruth, Justin Lloyd and his wife, Sarah and Mason Lloyd and his wife, Alicia; five great grandchildren, Jessica, Charlie, Kelsea, Korbin and Carson and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby. Leon received his education at Rocky Comfort where he grew up. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. Following his discharge, he returned home where he drove a truck most of his life. He delivered propane to customers all through out Barry County. He was a member of Seligman First Baptist Church, Pythagoras Lodge # 383, Cassville and American Legion Post # 118 of Cassville. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 9, 2011, in Chitwood Cemetery, Wheaton, Missouri, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Reverend Bob Scott will conduct the services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, in Fohn Funeral Home. |
