Text | Ruby Lee Hatch, 102, of Holiday Island, Ark., passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, in her home.
She was born June 16, 1910, the daughter of Albert and Josephine (Wilson) Miller, in Rossville, Kan. On Jan. 25, 1939, she was united in marriage to Donald Hatch who preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1988. Also preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers. Survivors include: one daughter, E.J. Adams and her husband, Caleb, of Golden; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She grew up and received her education in Rossville, Kan., where she graduated from high school in 1929. After their marriage in 1939, she and her husband lived in Denver, Colo., until they returned to Kansas in 1946. She moved to Holiday Island, Ark., in 1008 to be near her daughter. She was employed by King Radio for 20 years. She was a member of All Faith United Methodist Church in Eagle Rock, a 60-year member of the Ideal Homemakers Kansas State University Extension Club, and a charter member of the Garden Club of Shawnee, Kan. Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at All Faith United Methodist Church in Eagle Rock, under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville with Pastor Karen Tutak conducting the service. A second service will be held at Dover Federated Church in Dover, Kan., on Friday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bob Keller officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka, Kan. Contributions may be made to Helping Hands Food Pantry, PO 73, Eagle Rock, MO 65641, to All Faith United Methodist Church or to Dover Federated Church in her memory. |
