Headline FRED HARRIS DIES AT PURDY
Text Fred Harris, age 25, passed away Friday afternoon at Purdy, following an illness of about three weeks of typhoid fever. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Baptist church in Exeter, conducted by Rev. C.M. Smith. The large crowd in attendance was a strong testimonial to the high esteem in which he was held by a large number of friends and acquaintances. He was converted in 1924 and baptized into the fellowship of the Baptist church at Exeter in July of that year.

Fred Harris was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Harris of Exeter. He was born June 10,1906. He was married December 9, 1930 to Miss Esther Scroggins of this city. Soon after his marriage he went to Kansas where he worked for a while. Returning to Cassville he worked at the Cassville mill and later assisted in building of the ice storage plant here. Early in June he moved to Purdy to work on the building of the farm-to-market road between Purdy and McDowell.

He is survived by his young widow, his parents, and a twin brother, Edward Harris of Exeter. Interment was made in the Maple Grove cemetery of Exeter under direction of the Blankenship-Barr Funeral Service of Exeter and Purdy.
