Joseph P. Harrell one of the communities oldest settlers and best citizen
died at his home west of here Saturday 29, 1923 at the age of 75 years and 5
months. In 1873 he was married to Nancy Lamberson and to this union was born one son, John Lee, who died several years ago. He was later married to Rebecca Hinecker who survives him. Uncle Joe, as he was familiarly known, enjoyed the esteem of a large number of acquaintances in this section and his death was truly a shock to those who had enjoyed his friendship for so many years. A large number of relatives and friends gathered at his funeral which was conducted by Rev. J. T. Brattin Sunday afternoon. The body was buried in the Chitwood Cemetery south of here. |
