Text | Mrs. M. E. Hardwick, old time and respected near Golden citizen, died Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. V. Cassitty of Wayne, following an illness extending over the past few years. This splendid character came to the Golden community from Kansas, in the year 1886. She leaves six children to mourn her passing, who are: Mrs., P. V. Cassitty, Wayne, Mrs. Nettie Tucker, Rogers, Ark., Mrs Lizzie Humbarger of Oregon, Sin (Sim) and Herbert Hardwick, both of Golden, and J. W., of Eureka Springs, Ark., all of whom were at the funeral except Mrs. Humbarger. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Walter Head of Golden, Friday afternoon, after which burial was in the Viney cemetery under direction of the Koon Funeral Service of Cassville. A large number of sorrowing relatives and friends attended the services. In addition to her children, she also leaves 15 grandchildren and five great-grand-children. She was a consistent member of the Methodist church and was one of the country's best citizens. She had many friends and was a kind and loving mother, neighbor and friend. The Democrat extends sympathy to the bereaved family. |
