Headline | Killed by a Widow |
Text | Aurora, MO, June 26, Mrs. John Hanson, armed herself with an ax and going to the house of Mrs. John Wilver, a widow, assaulted her, striking at her
several times, each time the victim narrowly escaping death by dodging.
Mrs.Wilver finally reached a revolver and opened fire. The first bullet shattered the ax handle, the next hit Mrs. Hanson upon the upper lip, just to the right of the nose, ranging downward, breaking the jaw in several places and landing in the back of the neck at the base of the skull. The trouble grow out of the idea held by Mrs. Hanson that the widow was trying to alienate the affections of her husband. Mrs. Wilver was placed under arrest, Mrs. Hanson was killed. |
