| Text | Mrs. Alice Hancock, widow of the late Wm. C. Hancock of the Washburn community, passed away Monday April 8th at the home of her son, Gene Hancock in Wichita, Kan. Mrs. Hancock was 73 years old. Mr. Hancock died several years ago. A short funeral service was held Wednesday at Wichita, and the body brought to Cassville where a service is being held this afternoon, Thursday at the Church of Christ. The service here is being conducted by Rev. Harold Ensely. A quartet composed of a nephew Kimball Hancock and wife and two sons furnished the music. Burial will be in the Maplewood cemetery at Exeter, with Koon undertakers in charge. She is survived by four sons; Cline and John of Cassville; Gene of Wichita, and Lloyd of Dodge City, Kan., by one daughter, Mrs. Gale Martin of Wichita, one brother Walker Gates of Washburn.
