| Text | Harold E. Hampsten, 81, of Cassville, died at 6:55 a.m. April 10 at South
Barry County Hospital in Cassville following a brief illness. Mr. Hampsten was born July 6, 1917, in Greenup, Illinois, the son of Henry and Nannie Martin Hampsten. He retired as a maintenance engineer after more than 30 years with Amoco Chemicals. He moved to Cassville 22 years ago and attended the Church of Christ. He married Virginia Lee Grigsby on April 4, 1945, in Crown Point, Indiana, and she preceded him in death December 10, 1983. Survivors include one daughter, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Services were 11 a.m. April 12 at Williamson Chapel in Cassville with Wayne Deffenbaugh, minister, officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Cassville. Memorials may be made to Neva December Carr. |
