Text | Elizabeth Alice "Betty" Hagar, 84, of Monett, died at 8:05 a.m. April 11 at Cox Monett Hospital. Mrs. Hagar was born February 12, 1915, in St. Louis, the daughter of Paul and Helen Pinnell Boyer. She had lived in Monett since 1942, was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett, a homemaker, a member of the Daughters of American Revolution, American Legion Auxiliary, Parish Council of Catholic Women, Cox Monett Hospital Auxiliary, and League of Women Voters. She married Russell L. Hagar on April 6, 1934, in St. Louis, and he preceded her in death October 25, 1989. Survivors include two sons, John R. Hagar of Monett and Michael D. Hagar of Kansas City; two daughter, Nancy B. Pearce of Muskegon, Michigan, and Betsy Roccabruna of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha Willis. Services will be 10 a.m. tomorrow, April 14, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father John Braun officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Monett under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home of Monett. Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. today, April 13, at the funeral home with visitation to follow. Memorials may be made to Loaves and Fishes of Monett. |
