Tells that J. W. Bosley of Monett was killed outright from the explosion and that John Hadley of Jenkins, MO and Tucket Taylor of Van Buren were taken to the hospital in Poplar Bluff with not much hope of Taylor surviving. A match being accidentally dropped into a can of powder caused the explosion while working on a highway project. Research Note: John Hadley was probably the same person that registered as Earnest Pearl Hadley for the draft in WWI. |
