Text | Cleo May Gunnels, 90, of Seligman, died at 8:45 a.m. May 29 at Monett Health Care Center following a long illness. Mrs. Gunnels was born September 13, 1908, in New Salem, the daughter of Hugh and Anna Main Murray. She was a clerk at Rubows Mercantile Store in Seligman for 20 years and at the Seligman Farmers Exchange for four years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seligman. She married James Monroe "Shorty" Gunnels on July 3, 1926, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death February 15, 1985. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lenora Gunnels. Services will be 11 a.m. tomorrow, June 2, at the First Baptist Church in Seligman with Rev. Bob Scott and Rev. L. C. Barnett officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery in Seligman under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Cassville. |
