#2. Margaret Rullson, was born Nov. 14, 1822, at Charleston, N.Y. She was married to Wm. Guiles, at the age of 15, at Charleston, N. Y. She was converted when ten years old and joined the Methodist Episcopal church. She and her family moved from New York in 1865, settling in Minnesota. To them were born thirteen children, eight girls and five boys, eleven of which are living. Her husband, Wm. Guiles died in 1877. She leaves fifty-one grand children, twenty-seven great-grand children, and twelve great-great grand children and making ninety, in all. Her family is scattered, Mrs. Alice Spofford, Conklin, N. Y.; Christopher Guiles, Hallstead, Penn.; Mrs. Mary Thompson, Cora Penn; Frances Guiles, Alexandria, Minn.; Mrs. Lucinda Langiven and Silence Stephenson, Kemp., Minn.; Mrs. Hannah M. In 1900 she moved to Washburn with her daughter, Mrs. Westmoreland, where she lived until her spirit took its flight. Her children being so far away none were present when the Death Angle came except her daughter, Mrs. Westmoreland. She had been a great care for many years but her daughter with her loving heart cared for her many wants with that faithfulness that can only be rewarded in heaven. Grandma Guiles lived to the great age of 93 years, 3 months and 25 days. She was a true Christian attending all means of grace, helping to support the same until too feeble to do so. The funeral services were conducted by Bro. L. R. lamb of Cassville at the Union Church in Washburn at 1 p.m., March 12, 1916. She was laid to rest in the Washburn Prairie cemetery. A Friend. |
