Text | She kept all her vows to God and never deferred payment of her obligations to Him and she had pleasure therein, because it was right and no profits could came only by her efforts for Him, that would gain eternal admission to that Holy City, where she longed to go and be a member of that Heavenly household to dwell eternally. Miss Elizabeth Columbia Durham was born Feb. 18, 1863, near Washburn and was a daughter of Mr. Jas. M. and Mrs. Margaret Durham old and highly respected citizens of that section during life. She and Joseph G. Gregory were married Sept. 9, 1883. She protested faith in Christ before marriage and united with the Methodist Church South at Exeter. She left three brothers, John, James and Henry and two sisters, Mrs. T.B. Logan of Nevada and Mrs. Nannie Gowen of near Washburn. Her Husband survives her. She died Aug. 10, 1921 aged 58 years, 6 months and 8 days. Before her death she expressed her willingness to go, and wished she could take her husband with her. Funeral services were conducted by Elder Chas. Vanzandt at the home of her sister Mrs. Burl Gowen and the remains were laid to rest in the Roller Cemetery.
