Text | Obit #1 - Sister Graham was born in Christian County, Ky., April 22, 1827, her parents removed to Christian County, Ill, where she was a child, where she grew up to womanhood. She was converted and joined the Methodist E. Church in early life in which she lived a faithful member to death. She was married to Robert Graham, father of V. M. Graham in the year 1861. She had made her home with her stepson V. M. Graham since 1905 when she died at the advanced age of 84 years, 6 months and 18 days. Sister Graham was afflicted some time before the end came, was a devoted stepmother, an earnest Christian, bore her affliction in patience without murmuring in old age, lived in the enjoyment of the blessed experience. In every condition in sickness or heath, In poverty vale or abounding in wealth, At home or aboard up the land or sea, As the days may demand thy strength shall ever be. Even down to old age my people shall prove. My sovereign eternal, unchanged love. The funeral service was held at the M. E. Church South at 3 o'clock p.m., 11th inst. conducted by the writer and body laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery to await the final resurrection. W.W. Green Obit # 2 - The body of Mrs. Martha Graham, step-mother of V. M. Graham, which was buried in Oak Hill cemetery last week was taken up Friday and sent to Mrs. Graham's old home in Illinois for burial. |
