| Text | Helen M. Goodnight, age 88, of Monett, died December 9, 2007, at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett following a long illness. Mrs. Goodnight was born September 17, 1919, in Monett, the daughter of Ellis and Coella (Eden) Nunley. She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Salem Methodist Church in Monett and attended Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church near Purdy. She married Lee Goodnight on October 16, 1938, in Barry County, and he preceded her in death April 27, 2002. Survivors include two daughters, of North Pole, Alaska, and of Cassville; two sisters, of San Jose, California, and of Monett; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett with Rev. Lee Neill officiating. Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, December 11, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Loaves and fishes or Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church. |
