Sloan Gebhardt, 46, lost her brave, 11-month battle with pancreatic
cancer at home with her Mother and partner by her side on Friday, April
17, 2009.
She was born in Monett, Missouri on December 20, 1962 to Dean and Betty (Lawrence) Sloan. She graduated from Hickman High School in 1981. She attended the University of Missouri and completed her education at Jerry's Hair Styling Academy and has worked in several popular salons in Columbia during her 20-plus-year career, most recently at Green Meadows and Co. and Salon Nefisa. She became deeply connected with all her clients because of her warm personable and joyful style. She gathered friends easily and her community is extensive and loving. She was preceded in death by her father, Dean Sloan; her step father, Del Gebhardt; and her maternal grandparents, Zelf and Mabel Lawrence; Paternal grandparents, Carl (Kitty) and Dora Sloan. Her family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and support staff at Missouri Cancer Associates, and Boone Hospital for their sensitive compassionate care. |
