Text | Services for Bertha Galyen, 89, Dallas, Texas, a former Cassville resident who died Friday afternoon at a Dallas nursing home, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Williamson Chapel. The Rev. Larry Kennard officiated. Burial was in Kings Cemetery, north of Seligman. Mrs. Galyen was born April 13, 1889, in Seligman and had lived in Cassville until moving to Dallas, Texas in 1955. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Her husband, Wesley Galyen, died Sept. 30, 1961. Survivors include two sons, Leonard Galyen, Anderson and Lindsey Galyen, Alma, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. Alta Campbell, St. Jo, Texas and Mrs. Edith Kingston, Dallas, Texas; a brother, Layton Pippin, Seligman; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Steverson, Cassville, Miss Oldie Pippin, and Mrs. Clara Williams, both of Seligman and 13 grandchildren.
