Text | Mrs. Vesta Foster, widow of the late James Foster, who for many years was a prominent citizen of the Washburn Prairie community, passed to her rest at the Foster home east of Washburn, Sunday Sept 14, 1930. Rev. Chas Vanzandt of Exeter conducted funeral services at the home Tuesday afternoon. Vesta E. Ault was born Sept. 19 1846 in Tennessee. With her parents, Thomas and Emeline Ault, she came to Barry county when eight years of age. She was married to James Foster of Pea Ridge, Ark., in 1868. To them two children were born. Thomas J. and Florene both of whom precede her in death. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Thos. J. Foster, a brother, A. F. Ault of Kansas City, and two sisters, Mrs. Sue LeCompte of Pierce City and Mrs. Jane LeCompte of Cassville. Among those from a distance in attendance at the funeral were: A.F. Ault, Kansas City, Myrtle LeCompte, Nevada; G.M. Withers and family of Monett; Mrs. James Hickman Oronogo; J.D. Gustin, Springfield; Mrs. Wiley Mosley, Pea Ridge, Ark, Mrs. Ella Mosley and Mrs. Alice Poe, Pea Ridge; Mrs. Myrtle Miller, Springfield; Mrs. C. N. Jayne, Monett.
